  1. jQuery Mobile First Look

The good folks at Packt Publishing are sending me a copy of jQuery Mobile First Look to read and hopefully eventually review. I’m stoked they asked because I really need to improve my knowledge of mobile app development. Hopefully the content is not too far above my current skill level, we shall see.

  2. Awkward Showcase - jQuery Content Slider

Awkward Showcase - jQuery Content Slider

I try to bookmark a lot of these jQuery sliders for future use. There are plenty of options out there, but this one looks exceptional. I’ve yet to try it out, but I love all the configuration options. Tooltips, thumbnails and dynamic height are all things I get asked to include with sliders often. I didn’t see the file size, so hopefully it’s not too bloated.

  3. It’s great to see the progress CSS has made over the last few years. With CSS 3 comes all kinds of new tricks and techniques. Marcofolio has put together this example page of many common jQuery animations that can now be done in CSS 3. Very impressive.

  4. I’m excited to try out this new plugin by the impressive folks at Paravel. Their explanation describes it well enough…

A jQuery plugin for inflating web type. FitText makes font-sizes flexible. Use this plugin on your fluid or responsive layout to achieve scalable headlines that fill the width of a parent element.

  5. Mosaic - Sliding Boxes and Captions

Mosaic - Sliding Boxes and Captions. Another slick jQuery plugin from the guys at Build Internet.

  6. A new jQuery plugin from @buildinternet. I don’t love vertical tickers, but I could see some use for this in select situations. Plus these guys put together Supersized, a beautifully designed fullscreen background slider, so I’ll be taking a look!
